Liquor sales continue as usual at MRP from Friday night on wards in Kakinada district. According to sources, liquor prices had already been increased in all bars and wine shops from September 27. The hike was Rs. 40 on full bottles of all brands, Rs. 30 on beers, Rs. 20 on tin beers, and Rs. 10 on Breezer. The state government had actually set a price list on October 15, 2024. It will have been effected until 2026. The traders raised the prices of all brands in the meantime. Public agitations have been reported against the unauthorized liquor price hike. In these circumstances, liquor traders have withdrawn their decision and resumed sales at the original prices.
